Horizon 2020 Project ENTRAP

Case Studies Horizon 2020 Project ENTRAP

Project ENTRAP:

Enhanced Neutralisation of Explosive Threats Reaching Across the Plot

Project ENTRAP focused on advancing operational research tools to counter explosive threats. These tools, including morphological analysis, attack-defense trees, bow-tie diagrams, and wargaming, were adapted to assess the effectiveness of countermeasures across timelines and scenarios, improving preparedness and response strategies.

CBRNE Ltd led efforts in defining counter-terrorism requirements, establishing a Stakeholder and Practitioner Advisory Board to ensure project outputs were practical and relevant. The company conducted ethical risk assessments, identifying challenges linked to emerging counter-tools such as surveillance techniques and intelligence sharing, ensuring compliance with ethical and legal frameworks. CBRNE Ltd also evaluated legal considerations, addressing issues like individual rights, public safety, privacy, and liability. Additionally, they developed practical guidelines to manage the social impact, public acceptance, and legal obligations of law enforcement.
